Real Clever Science

My name is Ari Einbinder. This is the journal of my travels into the realm of science and science education.
I've worked at science museums in NY (NYSCI and AMNH) and across Europe. Currently I'm studying "museology" (aka museum studies) at UW in Seattle, WA. I'm also one of Tumblr's Science Section editors.

I discuss anything that fascinates me, but popular topics include evolution, transhumanism (e.g BCI), futurism, psychology, quantum computing, climate change, sustainability, genetic engineering and occasionally politics - to name a few.

Hi! I’ve been thinking about the Museology program in Seattle. What made you choose it, out of curiosity? thanks!

Hey there PigeonsAndPomegranates,

I was looking for a museum studies program which included an emphasis on science museums and science centers - since most programs focus on art and/or history. I found that the program at UW and the one at the University of Colorado at Boulder both had that, so those were my top two choices. I was accepted to UW with a partial scholarship, so that basically sealed the deal for me. (Though the weather in Boulder would have been nicer; still, Seattle has lots to offer, including many cultural centers - e.g. museums - as well as a strong environmentally aware attitude, though Boulder’s pretty good about that too.)

Do you have a specific area that fascinates you? Or is it simply the wondrous aura of museums?
